Art meets whisky
Art is one-of-a-kind. From one idea to sketching, stippling, rolling, printing or painting – an artist makes something truly incredible from nothing. We love the idea that something special can be made from so little and connect with so many people on lots of different levels.
We feel that way about whisky too. From three seemingly simple ingredients comes an artfully distilled single cask of whisky that captures a multitude of flavours and can taste different to everyone who sips it.
So we've paired them together. Caskshare is all about finding truly special single-cask whisky and bringing it to a wide community of drinkers, collectors and investors. Adding one of a kind art to every release seemed like a match made in heaven, with every artist designing a piece for the bottle with the liquid in mind. No two casks will be the same as we collaborate with new and renowned artists from around the world.
Although we’re launching on the 10th of March, revealing all of the artists we’ve collaborated with so far, we thought we’d share Thomas’ story a little early.
Art, auld friends and the ABC
We read about nonagenarian artist Thomas McGoran on a quiet lunchtime together just a few weeks ago. Now, we’re collaborating with him and his wonderful artwork will appear on our latest cask – an Auchentoshan 33 year old.
What started as a retirement hobby has become a new chapter as art lovers flock to the East End of Glasgow. A life as rich as his beloved paintings – Thomas McGoran has taken the UK by storm after opening his humble gallery space to the public and finding himself in the spotlight.
Meeting McGoran is like walking into a warmly lit room, and it's clear to us why the national press has taken hold of his story. From lively chats about one-room houses in the East End to life as a 'spool-boy' in the early days of cinema – Thomas and his work capture what it is to love Scotland's largest city.
Pairing his viral work with a distillery as synonymous with Glasgow as The Duke of Wellington statue felt like the perfect fit. Choosing a painting wasn’t easy but as a team, we felt the ‘Wee Glesga’ Wumin – Going To The Movies’ looked like a cold winter's night that is perfect for a warming dram.

We’ve had an incredible amount of interest in this cask so we’ve extended our ballot to the 9th of March and released a few more bottles from our vaults. To enter the ballot, visit our dedicated Auchentoshan page.
