We’re celebrating the craftsmanship and care behind every single-cask whisky by commissioning an artist for every release. Artwork that’s as unique as the whisky – all of our releases will feature a piece of artwork designed with the liquid in mind. No two designs will be the same, much like the casks.
For our Dailuaine 14 year old cask, we partnered with the amazingly talented, Evie Grace. Evie is a Scottish artist currently based in Bristol. Since she was old enough to pick up a pencil, Evie developed a deep passion for all things creative.
As well as illustrations, Evie is a lover of the outdoors, hiking, and swimming. These passions merged together to produce the stunning piece used for the Dailuaine bottling.
In Evie’s words, “Whisky and adventures are one and the same for me, a Scottish bothy with a whisky is the perfect combination. I wanted to capture that in this design.
I wanted to show both the magic of Scotland and the magic of adventures (and therefore Whisky!) by adding a couple of mystical twists to the starry bothy scene.”
When asked about her process, Evie explained that her first steps are always mind-mapping ideas and jotting down notes.
“My first steps are always mind-mapping ideas and scribbling down everything that comes to my head. Then once I can visualise ideas I always start with pencil on paper to sketch them out. From there I draw the final design, scan it into my laptop and digitise it with my graphics tablet.”
If you are interested in working with Evie on any personal or professional projects, you can contact her via eviegraceillustration@gmail.com or message her on instagram (@eviegraceillustration). You can also see her other designs at www.eviegraceillustration.com.
Evie is a pleasure to work with and we were so glad to have her on board for our first release.
