Cocktails and whisky – the perfect blend.
Blended whisky and cocktails are a match made in heaven. Whether shaken on stirred, mixologists often favour blends for signatures serves and we don't blame them. With interesting flavour notes and less of the ceremony that surounds single-cask whiskies, unique blends are the perfect fit for any cocktail list.
Here's three cocktails and three fantastic whiskies we think go great together:
A Warm Welcome
Our take on the classic old fashioned that was served at our launch night. Made with our 9 year old highland blend, we wanted something special to welcome our guests into Manor Place and this definitely did the trick.
With notes top of orchard fruits and digestive biscuits, this soft and smooth dram worked well with a slightly syupry summer fruit reduction.
50ml Caskshare's Highland Blend
A teaspoon of Salted bramble & anise reduction,
Dash of creole bitters & white balsamic
Garnishes: Golden bramble and orange twist.

A Peachy Highball
A highball is a staple cocktail that at times can feel a little stale. When we visited Woven Whisky to sample some of their newest range, we instantly fell in love with their twist on a highball. Woven are blending experts, with a number of awards under their belt and we're delighted to see blends getting the recognition they deserve.
50ml Experience N.11 // PEACHY from Woven whisky
10ml Syrup from tinned peach
150ml Sparkling water
Method: Build all over ice in a highball glass. Churn and serve. Tinned Peach Garnish.
A Marsala Sour
With notes of apricot and soft brown sugar, this incredible single-cask whisky is the perfect dram for an extra special whisky sour. Many people are afraid to add single-cask whisky into the mix but this syrupy sweet whisky, with it's fortified wine characteristics, pairs beautifully with something as decedant as a sour.
50ml Ben Riach Marsala cask whisky
35ml lemon juice
12½ml 2:1 sugar syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
½ fresh egg white
50p-sized piece of lemon zest
Method: Build
Shake all of the ingredients with ice and strain into coupe glass. Add the lemon garnish and serve.
