Bruichladdich Distillery produces unpeated, peated and very heavily peated whisky.
Bruichladdich is made from two Gaelic words, “Brudhach” meaning ascent, and Chladach meaning shore, resulting in gentle slope of the sea. The distillery was built in 1881 by the Brothers Robert, William and John Gourlay Harvey.
